Cadillac 03:41
Where do we go now? Where do we go my friend? Should we make more of this time? How do we start and how does it ever end, are doing fine? What's that smash, thats glass it's shattering Shards and pieces they're still scattering. You still act like it's not happening. What we had we will never get it back. You're the shark and I'm the stickleback. I'm the cart and you're the Cadillac

I’m coming back to you Nothings gonna slow me down Heads up I’m rolling through I been too long out of town No more chasing tales or staring at the skies Straight as a die and as the crow flies I’m heading back my dear Turn all those reds to green And when the road is clear I’ll be back on the scene So you better set the table Hang all the bunting high The horses have left the stable We’ll drink all the speakeasy’s dry No more chasing tales or staring at the skies Straight as a die and as the crow flies When the crow takes up flight he’s sure where he’s going Got one goal in sight just one way of knowing He don’t make no stops at any old station Just flies till he drops at his destination Put on your Sunday best Make your excuses now Feather your finest nest Scatter the fields and plough

Dorothy 02:56
Dorothy I think you know it There’s something going down that’s left unsaid The way you look at me but you don’t show it I feel you call my name inside your head And it’s our secret and no one else can know It’s a love that’s always pure We can keep it buried in the snow Just keep those loving eyes down Dorothy I think you feel it This sense of having know you once before A love so bright we can’t reveal it It’s just enough to know it’s at the door And it’s our secret and no one else can know It’s a love that’s always pure We can keep it buried in the snow Just keep those loving eyes down Dorothy well there’s no sorrow If we can’t be together in those ways Well I don’t care about tomorrow It feels like I have loved you all my days

Mary Celeste 02:17
Don’t ask me where I’m going I’m uncertain at best And I feel like the crew on the Mary Celeste And the chances of getting home Feel as good as rolling stone Directions locations we all look to the skies The car keys abandoned as the Severn roles by And the choices that got us here Well they flicker and disappear So don’t ask me for reasons cuz I ain’t got the time The days and the seasons that used to be mine Are the shadows across my soul As I fall down the rabbit hole

DANCING ABOUT ARCHITECTURE

dancing-about-architecture.com/the-boy-on-the-beach-shaun-kelly-and-the-returned-gifts-reviewed-by-dave-franklin/

“The Boy on the Bench is a richly diverse, collision of styles and substance, chock full of foot tappers and sing-a-longs. Together, it makes up a damn fine debut by Shaun Kelly & The Returned Gifts.”

SLAP MAGAZINE

"Cadillac is, what we would call, a real gem! Electrifying guitar & vocal deliveries - superbly complimented by that horn section - I am on the trip of a lifetime!"

WAY OUT RADIO

“An Album that constantly delivers on all fronts.”

R2 ROCK AND REEL MAGAZINE

“Following the brilliant 'Cadillac' Kelly and his gifts are back with this simple but jaunty indie number with a fun, catchy chorus and a delightful upbeat vibe. Nice.”

(7/10) - KPBSPBLOGSPOT

“I just can't help swinging along to this one - it sounds so light - making it a very desirable track.”

WAY OUT RADIO

“The Boy on the Bench’ is a wide-ranging and accomplished album that packs a fair few decent tunes. There’s a certain charm to Kelly’s varied musical approach, which spans choppy guitars and buoyant acoustic strums and a whole lot more between. An admirably versatile musician, who showcases an eclectic and compelling range here. It may be a gift you’d prefer to keep.”

WHISPERING AND HOLLERING

It’s fair to say Shaun Kelly has been around the block in his bizarre career.

From being asked to collaborate with music legend Andy Taylor of Duran Duran to his port-a-loo meeting with madcap 60s legend Arthur Brown musing on how to apply makeup before a gig, to providing the musical entertainment for his sister in law’s night on “Come Dine with Me”. Which she won.

Leading this collective of musicians emerging from the ashes of the indie B-town scene in the heart of the UK. The band have been collaborating on new sounds that mix elements of west coast guitar pop with classic British melodic agendas… along with anything else that springs to mind.
The debut single ‘Debt of silence’ came from nowhere and instantly made single of the week on the James Whale Radio Show.
Next came national coverage on BBC radio for the next releases as well as another tune being showcased on the ground breaking TV series “Civilisations” on BBC1.
The debut LP “the boy on the bench” is out now and has been highly praised in the UK music press as well as catching the ear of a host of influential websites and bloggers.
